Halfdan Magnus Stefansson (born 2001) is a guitarist, musician and organizer living in Copenhagen. He is part of the new wave of alternative music coming out of Denmark at the moment. He is active with work in Denmark and across Europe.

He is autodidact in his approach to the guitar, working with alternative tunings, techniques and preparations, all used to create atmospheric sounds – both harsh and of beauty.

He is not a versatile musician, but his unique approach to the instrument, is used in a line of active bands – among those are:

Poetic grunge-rock trio; Bending Backwards, collaboration with veteran of Danish litterature; Farvel & Peter Laugesen, nowave trio with Danish punk legend TS Høeg; Psychobillyjazz 3, 12-piece punk orchestra; Hands on Fire, Wall-of-sound impro duo; Spiderpeople, and in trio with Claire Dickson and Marius Wankel. Halfdan also performs with solo guitar.

For him, being an organizer is closely intertwined with his musical work, and these two facets of being a working musician are important to him, in making creative art in meaningful contexts.

Halfdan is the founder and prime mover behind the record label and collective Movement Shaped Like a Heart. Movement Shaped Like a Heart is a platform for alternative music in Denmark, both working to present the new music and to connect it with similar movements abroad. Movement Shaped Like a Heart is working to highlight the importance of alternative music, alternative art, and alternative forms of communication, as means to build communities and combat negative change in society.

Halfdan Magnus Stefansson (født 2001) er en guitarist, musiker og arrangør, bosat i København. Han er en del af den nye bølge af alternativ musik, der kommer ud af Danmark i øjeblikket. Han er aktiv i Danmark og på tværs af Europa.

Han er autodidakt i sin tilgang til guitaren, og arbejder med alternative tunings, teknikker og præparationer. Han bruger guitaren til at lave stemningsfyldte, smukke og rå rum i musikken.

Han er ikke en alsidig musiker, men hans unikke tilgang til instrumentet bruges i en række aktive bands, heriblandt:

Halfdan er grundlægger og primus motor bag pladeselskabet og kollektivet Movement Shaped Like a Heart. Movement Shaped Like a Heart er en platform for alternativ musik i Danmark, og har fokus på både at præsentere den nye musik fra vækstlaget, og samtidig forbinde den med lignende bevægelser i udlandet. Movement Shaped Like a Heart arbejder med et fokus på fællesskaber, og ønsker at lægge vægt på alternativ musik og kunst, som et vigtigt led i at modarbejde negativ forandring i samfundet.
